Since everyone seems so engrossed in asking (and answering) questions, here're some questions for you.
- A train travels from berlin to Paris, travelling at 80km/h. One hour later, another train travels from Paris to Berlin at 100kh/h. When they meet, which train is further away from Berlin? (Clue: everything you need is in the question)
- A clock takes 8 seconds to tick 5 ticks. How long does it take to tick 10 ticks? (Clue: not 16)
- Beaker A contains some water. Beaker B contains the same volume of wine. You scoop some water from A to B, stir, then scoop the same amount from B to A. Does A contain more wine or B contain more water?
- What happens if you repeat (3) for infinite number of times?
- 100kg of berries contains 99% moisture. the next day, the moisture drops to 98%. what is the weight of the berries now? (Clue: not 100)
The above questions (and the following aka all questions) are courtesy of my classmate Spencer.
Now for some questions worth thinking about to do with our dearest H2O, without which we cannot survive.
Now for some questions worth thinking about to do with our dearest H2O, without which we cannot survive.
- What is the colour of water?
- Why can we see water droplets?
- Ice is colourless, but why does it appear white sometimes?
- Why is snow white?
- Why are snowflakes hexagonal?
- How many types of ice are there?
Anyone with the answers or feel they have the answer feel free to post a comment here. Looking for original ideas here, not some cut and paste thing from the internet. Its ok to be wrong cause you won't be laughed at by tons of people here unlike double x's blog. I'll be glad to discuss any of these questions with anyone.
In case you were wondering, maddog, Alvin and I have figured out the answer to the PSLE questions but the questions seem to be getting more and more vague, comparing things that are not related. Wonder if that is supposed to make the paper more challenging or has MOE just ran out of creative questions to ask. In any case, I'm always here if they need me.
